artist & Illustrator

Hello, I’m an illustrator, designer, and educator; I have a wide and eclectic set of interests, and my work often reflects that. Originally, I’m from Chicago but have moved abroad to Guangzhou, China.

In Chicago, I worked for Art on Sedgwick - an organization dedicated to engaging neighbors of all backgrounds to foster belonging, inspiration, and equity in the Old Town area. I owe a lot to their philosophy and community — you can check out the great work they do on their website.

My most recent large project is a graphic novel exploring stories within a Chicago artist colony made by the rennaisance man Edgar Miller. The story spans through the whole 20th century. This was done with the support of the organizations Art on Sedgwick and Edgar Miller Legacy through an artist residency. You can see the book in progress here.

My other current project is a book about the composer Dmitri Shostakovich and his experience as a composer in Stalinist Russia. The book in on hiatus because of the previous project, but you can check a preview here. To support research on him and that time in history, I also work pro-bono as the layout editor for the DSCH Journal - the academic journal dedicated to the life and work of Dmitri Shostakovich.
